Shopping, scrapping, packing and ribbon!!

Have been very busy again!! In fact I shouldn't really be writing on this tonight as I'm trying to get everything together for my trip to Iceland and I leave tomorrow morning!! I'm looking forward to it!
I've had a busy few days crafty wise. Angela sent me some fab "twiddleybitz" chipboard stuff to play with and I managed to do a couple of cards and a layout for her. She also sent me the new ribbon kit yesterday and as you can see it goes very well with Cleo and is absolutely gorgeous. It has the most fantastic tree stamp in it which I'll have to find a use for!!
It was the craft fair at the SECC on Saturday and the weather was so pooey that I just had to go!! Plus I wanted to buy tickets for STrictly Come Dancing Live in February and if I bought them in person with cash at the SECC it saved me £20. I actually bought more than I had planned to but not excessively so, my extra purchase was a Heidi Grace Jolly and Bright kit which was only a £10 and had loads of paper and embellies in it!
Saturday was an expensive day because I bought a new jacket and trousers for my trip as well, mind you I've only got about 4 pairs of trousers just now so didn't feel to bad about it!!
Right must get off and finish sorting things out!!

Another week gone by!!

Once again, where does the time go? I don't know what I end up doing half of the time!! In fact I'm being particularly ditsy again at the moment. I spent about half an hour tonight looking for my camera, not my digi SLR but my smaller digi cam that I find good for taking on a night out. Not that I'm going on a night out in the next few days, more that I was looking for it at the weekend before I went out on Saturday night!! The night out was great but I was suffering for it on Sunday. It was really great to catch up with some of my friends, it would have been even nicer if I had pictures of it!! My camera did finally reveal itself to me under the chair in my bedroom!!

Other than this I have been creating a few LOs, am trying to catch up a bit with the Cathy Z class I am doing. So far am still on week 2 and we're on week 4! This weekend I have few plans though so am hoping to get more stuff done. The class I am really enjoying though, Cathy is a great teacher and I love the slideshows she makes for us. It's also good for me to be doing a different style of scrapbooking. I'm never going to be a totally clean and simple girl but I'm enjoying the challenge of it and it's great scrapping multi-photo layouts. I particularly like the layout I've posted here from the class. One of the reasons I like it though is because I think I've managed to bring a bit of my own style to it (ie ribbon and patterned paper!!!) The observant among you will notice that the pics in this layout bear an unholy likeness to the ones in a layout just down the page! THis is because I FELT the NEED to use them again as they are just so cute!!

Where does the time go?!!!

Can't believe it's nearly a week since I posted a blog entry, mind you i've not been doing too much crafting this past week although I did finish a couple of pages for my African sunsets project (I haven't scanned them yet though!!). I think I've been doing this for ever!! I came up with the idea after doing a SHimelle class that I would do a mini album (not actual page size though!!) of my favourite sunset pics as I had quite a few spectacular ones!! I have 6x4 prints, 1 per 8.5x11 page so they come together really quickly. THe daft thing is that I've kept the pages so I could do them at a crop as there is a kit to use for everything but I never seem to want to do them at a crop, I'm much more likely to play with new papers!! Anyway, there's about 6 more pages to do which hopefully I will finish sometime soon!!
However, although I didn't manage much making stuff this weekend I fell in love with Yo LA Tengo all over again! I was flicking through ITunes store after installing the new version of ITunes with Genius on my computer and found they had a couple of Yo La TEngo CDs I didn't have already. They aren't the easiest things in the world to get hold of and some of the ones I have already have been Amazon imports. Anyway I did the preview listen to one of the tracks on one of the albums ( Painful) and it nearly had me in tears it was just so amazing!! I had to buy it and listen to Yo La Tengo and it was just great. I SOOOO love that band, I wish they would come to the UK again as they were amazing when I saw them live as well.

Today's layout was another one done for the Design Your Life class and includes the amazing AC puffy thickers!!

Dear Mum

This is a layout I've just finished for my Design Your Life class (all up to date now, maybe I will keep up with this!). It's quite personal the journalling on it, really about how I miss my mum who was my best friend.

I've used new BG, sassafrass lass and some maya road blossoms, prima flower, bo bunny brads and ribbon from an Angel Crafts ribbon kit! (my goodness, even my simple layouts seem to use quite a lot of different products!!)

My new favourite size of layout!!

I'm soooo loving doing these 12x6 layouts, this time portrait which I have to admit I wasn't sure was going to work but I'm really pleased with the results!! I've used lots of yummy new sassafrass lass papers, some ribbon and trim from my stash, prima flowers and fabby puff MM alphabet. Actually puffy alphabets may be my new favourite embellies as I've got the AC one as well and I LOVE IT lots!!
Off to do some stuff for the BPS class I am doing " Design your Life". I've done the pre-class work we were given and also the first layout and I really enjoying it!!
These weren't even the only layouts I managed yesterday, I also did another one, don't know where all this mojo is coming from but hope it carries on!!

Rollover

Found time last night to do this layout of my little ball of fluff!!
The layout is really straight in real life!! I love these prima papers, so bright and funky and really quite me!! Am feeling quite mojoed (my new word!) up just now and ready to do some more crafty stuff. Tonight the first thing I have to do though is make an envelope for a birthday card I made for one of my work colleagues. I'm getting quite adept at making a fairly decent decorative envelope from a piece of 12x12 for a 6x6 card!
Off to make a mess of the craft space!!
